The Resident Evil Remake Collection

Few video game series have reinvented themselves as successfully as Resident Evil. Beginning with the 2002 GameCube remake of the original Resident Evil and continuing through the modern reimaginings of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4, Capcom has revisited some of the most important games in the franchise and rebuilt them for new generations.

This four-poster collection brings those remakes together in one matching display.

The collection begins with the 2002 Resident Evil remake, which returned players to the Spencer Mansion and completely rebuilt the 1996 survival horror classic. Alongside its enhanced presentation, the remake introduced redesigned areas, new puzzles, additional story elements and new enemies, creating an experience that could surprise even players familiar with the original. Resident Evil 2 Remake followed in 2019, transporting players back to a devastated Raccoon City. Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield became the central protagonists as they attempted to survive the T-virus outbreak, uncover Umbrella’s secrets and escape the city alive. In 2020, Resident Evil 3 Remake returned to the same outbreak from Jill Valentine’s perspective. With Raccoon City collapsing around her and the relentless Nemesis pursuing her, Jill’s story provides another perspective on the events surrounding Resident Evil 2.

The collection concludes with Resident Evil 4 Remake, released in 2023. Six years after Raccoon City, Leon Kennedy returns as a government agent tasked with rescuing Ashley Graham from an isolated region of Europe. The remake modernises one of the most influential games in the series while retaining its distinctive characters, locations and survival horror foundations.

Four Games. Four Distinct Nightmares.

The bundle contains four individual posters:

  • Resident Evil Remake – the 2002 GameCube reimagining centred on the Spencer Mansion, Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine.
  • Resident Evil 2 Remake – the 2019 reimagining featuring Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield during the Raccoon City outbreak.
  • Resident Evil 3 Remake – Jill Valentine’s desperate escape from Raccoon City while being hunted by Nemesis.
  • Resident Evil 4 Remake – Leon Kennedy’s 2023 return and his mission to rescue Ashley Graham.

Each poster is designed individually around artwork representing its respective game, while the shared layout, typography and information structure allow the four designs to work together as a cohesive collection.

From the Spencer Mansion to Europe

One of the most appealing aspects of the collection is the way the four posters represent the changing worlds of Resident Evil. The first poster focuses on the iconic interior of the Spencer Mansion, the isolated location that established the atmosphere of the original survival horror experience. Resident Evil 2 moves the action into the devastated streets and buildings of Raccoon City, with the R.P.D. becoming one of the series’ most recognisable locations. Then, Resident Evil 3 expands that perspective further, following Jill through the collapsing city while Nemesis relentlessly pursues her. Finally Resident Evil 4 then takes Leon far from Raccoon City to a remote European setting, introducing the Ganados and the parasitic Las Plagas while shifting the series towards a more action-oriented style.

Together, the four games provide a visual journey through some of Resident Evil’s most memorable settings and characters.

The Evolution of Resident Evil

The four remakes also demonstrate how the series’ approach to survival horror has evolved.

The 2002 Resident Evil remake retains the slower, methodical structure of the original, with fixed camera angles, carefully designed puzzles, limited resources and exploration of the Spencer Mansion. Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 were rebuilt around an over-the-shoulder perspective, modern controls and the RE ENGINE, bringing a much closer and more immediate sense of danger to Raccoon City. Resident Evil 4 takes that modern perspective and combines it with considerably greater emphasis on action, movement and combat, while still retaining resource management, exploration and horror.

Capcom has described its modern remakes as reimagined experiences rather than simple graphical updates, with each game being rebuilt to provide a fresh experience while retaining the essence of the original.

The four posters therefore represent more than four individual games. Together, they showcase different eras and interpretations of the Resident Evil formula.

A Collection for Resident Evil Fans

For long-time fans, the four games cover some of the most important chapters in the series.

The 2002 remake revisits the game that established Resident Evil’s original survival horror formula. Resident Evil 2 returns to the Raccoon City outbreak and the stories of Leon and Claire. Resident Evil 3 places Jill and Nemesis at the centre of the city’s final days, while Resident Evil 4 follows Leon into an entirely new setting and a dramatically different kind of biological nightmare.

Each remake has its own atmosphere and visual identity, but the matching poster designs allow them to be displayed as one collection.

Whether arranged side by side or across a larger gaming wall, the four posters create a display spanning the Spencer Mansion, Raccoon City and Leon’s European mission.

Design & Style

Each poster in this four-piece collection follows the same minimalist gallery-style design, creating a consistent visual identity across the complete Resident Evil remake range.

The individual main artwork is different for each game. The Resident Evil Remake design centres on the iconic Spencer Mansion interior, Resident Evil 2 Remake uses its distinctive Raccoon City key art, Resident Evil 3 Remake focuses on Jill Valentine and Nemesis, and Resident Evil 4 Remake features Leon Kennedy. The Resident Evil title sits above each main image, with key game information positioned in the upper section. This includes the developer, publisher, genre and original launch platforms. Six square colour swatches are sampled directly from each game’s artwork, giving every poster its own colour palette while maintaining the same overall structure. Below each main image is a concise description of the corresponding game and its original release date, with the relevant launch platform logos completing each design at the bottom.

The result is a four-piece collection that looks cohesive when displayed together while allowing the artwork of each individual game to remain distinctive.
