Released in 2024, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle takes place in 1937, between the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Developed by MachineGames and published by Bethesda Softworks, the game puts players directly into the role of Indiana Jones as he investigates a mysterious artefact and becomes caught up in a worldwide race to uncover the secret of the Great Circle.
The adventure takes Indy far beyond the lecture halls of Marshall College, travelling across some of the world’s most spectacular locations. From the Vatican and the pyramids of Egypt to the jungles of Southeast Asia and the Himalayas, the game recreates the sense of globe-spanning exploration that has always defined Indiana Jones.
At the centre of the mystery is the Great Circle itself, an ancient secret pursued by sinister forces who believe it holds extraordinary power. With Indy caught between rival factions, the adventure combines archaeological discovery with dangerous encounters, ancient puzzles and spectacular action sequences.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is primarily experienced from a first-person perspective, placing you directly into Indy’s boots as you explore forgotten ruins, investigate archaeological sites and uncover hidden secrets. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle originally launched on Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC on 9 December 2024. The game was developed specifically for modern hardware, allowing its detailed environments, cinematic presentation and large-scale locations to showcase the world of Indiana Jones in a way earlier games could not.
The game was later also launched for the PlayStation 5, with a Nintendo Switch 2 port following in 2026.
For anyone who grew up with the original Indiana Jones films or classic adventure games, The Great Circle provides a modern interpretation of a character who has been part of popular culture for decades.
