The Super Mario Land games occupy a unique place in Nintendo history. Created specifically for the Game Boy, the series took Mario away from the Mushroom Kingdom and introduced new worlds, characters and gameplay ideas across three very different adventures.
This bundle brings all three games together in one matching collection.
Super Mario Land, released in 1989, was Mario’s Game Boy debut and sent him to the distant land of Sarasaland, where he must rescue Princess Daisy from the alien Tatanga. Unlike the traditional Mario adventures, the game introduced its own enemies, worlds and even vehicles including the Marine Pop submarine and Sky Pop aircraft. Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins followed in 1992, bringing Mario back to Mario Land after Wario had taken control of his castle. Mario must travel through six different zones and recover the Golden Coins needed to confront Wario. The trilogy concluded in 1994 with Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3. This time Wario takes centre stage, travelling to Kitchen Island in search of treasure and a castle of his own. The game became the first to bear the Wario Land name and marked Wario’s debut as a playable character.
Three Iconic Game Boy Adventures
The bundle includes three individual posters:
- Super Mario Land – the original 1989 Game Boy adventure featuring Mario, Princess Daisy and Tatanga.
- Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins – Mario’s 1992 adventure against Wario and his six Golden Coins.
- Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 – Wario’s 1994 treasure-hunting adventure on Kitchen Island.
Each individual poster is also available separately, including the original Super Mario Land poster, Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins poster and Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 poster.
Design & Style
Each poster is based around the original Game Boy box art for its respective game, giving the three-piece collection a strong visual connection to the games’ original releases.
The matching gallery-style layout features the game title above the main artwork, with game information positioned alongside a set of six colour swatches sampled directly from the artwork. Beneath the main image is a concise description of the adventure and its original release year, while Game Boy branding completes the design at the bottom.
Displayed together, the three posters create a cohesive retro Nintendo wall display while still giving each game its own distinct artwork and colour palette.
