Uncharted: The Lost Legacy takes the series in a new direction, placing Chloe Frazer in the leading role for her own standalone adventure. Following her appearances in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, Chloe steps out from Nathan Drake’s shadow to lead a new expedition.
Released in 2017 and developed by Naughty Dog, The Lost Legacy takes Chloe and former Shoreline leader Nadine Ross to India’s Western Ghats in search of the legendary Golden Tusk of Ganesh. Their journey combines exploration, combat, puzzles and cinematic set pieces in the familiar Uncharted style.
Chloe Frazer Takes the Lead
The Lost Legacy is the first standalone adventure in the Uncharted franchise to move Nathan Drake out of the starring role. Instead, Chloe Frazer becomes the protagonist, giving one of the series’ most recognisable supporting characters the opportunity to lead her own story.
Chloe brings a very different personality to the role of treasure hunter, relying on her archaeological knowledge, quick thinking and ability to improvise when things go wrong. The game explores more of her character while retaining the globe-trotting adventure and treasure hunting that define the series.
Chloe and Nadine
The adventure pairs Chloe with Nadine Ross, who previously appeared as an antagonist in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. The two make an unlikely partnership, with their contrasting personalities creating an important part of the story. Together they travel through the Western Ghats in search of the Golden Tusk of Ganesh while attempting to stay ahead of Asav, a ruthless warlord who is also pursuing the ancient artefact. Their journey takes them through cities, jungles and the ruins of the Hoysala Empire.
The Golden Tusk of Ganesh
At the centre of The Lost Legacy is the search for the legendary Golden Tusk of Ganesh, an ancient Indian artefact connected to the Hoysala Empire.
Chloe and Nadine must follow clues through the Western Ghats to locate the Tusk before it falls into the hands of Asav. The setting gives the game a distinctive visual identity, combining lush landscapes, ancient ruins and urban environments with the cinematic action and exploration expected from an Uncharted adventure.
