Silent Hill: Townfall Poster – Fear Behind the Static
Released in September 2026, Silent Hill: Townfall introduces a new standalone story within Konami’s long-running psychological horror series. Developed by Scottish studio Screen Burn Interactive and co-published by Annapurna Interactive and Konami, the game takes place in 1996 on the remote Scottish island of St. Amelia.
Players take on the role of Simon Ordell, who returns to the island with the intention of putting things right. What he discovers is a town shrouded in heavy fog, seemingly abandoned but far from empty. As Simon ventures deeper into St. Amelia, fragments of the past begin to emerge, gradually revealing unsettling connections between him, the town and the people who once lived there. The game combines exploration, stealth, combat and narrative-driven puzzles, with its story unfolding through the places Simon visits and the clues he uncovers. Its first-person perspective brings players closer to the environment, making every dark corridor, deserted street and unexplained sound feel immediate and threatening.
This poster celebrates the game’s official key art, capturing the distinctive identity of a new Silent Hill story while retaining the mysterious atmosphere that has defined the series for decades.
St. Amelia – A Town Lost in the Fog
Unlike the familiar American setting of many earlier Silent Hill games, Townfall takes place in a remote coastal community in Scotland. St. Amelia’s isolated location gives the game a different atmosphere, shaped by cold shorelines, deserted streets and the sense that the outside world is far beyond reach.
Simon arrives as an outsider, but his return to the island is tied to something more personal than a simple search for answers. As he explores, the apparent quiet of the town gradually gives way to evidence of a disturbing past. Places that initially seem ordinary become increasingly unsettling as details emerge and the boundaries between reality and memory begin to blur. Fog remains central to the experience, obscuring the world and limiting what Simon can see. The effect is more than a visual signature: it reinforces the uncertainty that runs through the story, leaving players to question what is waiting ahead and how much of the town’s apparent emptiness can be trusted.
The Scottish setting gives Townfall its own visual character while preserving the isolation, mystery and psychological unease that make Silent Hill recognisable.
A New Perspective on Silent Hill Horror
One of the most significant differences between Townfall and previous entries is its fully first-person perspective. Rather than observing Simon from behind, players experience the nightmare directly through his eyes, bringing them closer to the environments, puzzles and threats surrounding him.
Survival requires more than confronting every enemy. Simon must judge when to move carefully, when to hide and when a direct confrontation is unavoidable. Limited weapons and tools make each encounter feel dangerous, while the game’s narrative puzzles encourage players to examine their surroundings and piece together the story. A particularly distinctive tool is the CRTV, a portable television that can be tuned into unstable signals. This unusual device helps Simon uncover clues and assess the threats around him, giving the game a visual and mechanical identity of its own.
The combination of first-person exploration, tense evasion and unsettling audiovisual clues makes Townfall a different experience from the earlier games. Yet its focus on isolation, uncertainty and the relationship between place and personal history remains firmly rooted in the Silent Hill tradition.
A New Chapter in a Long-Running Horror Series
Since the original Silent Hill arrived on PlayStation in 1999, the series has built its reputation through psychological storytelling, disturbing environments and stories that explore the darker sides of human experience. Its sequels and spin-offs have introduced different characters and locations, allowing each entry to interpret those themes in its own way.
The Silent Hill 1–4 Collection celebrates the series’ classic era with four posters inspired by the original Silent Hill, the PlayStation 2 version of Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill 3 and Silent Hill 4: The Room. It provides a natural companion to this design for collectors who want to display the games that established the franchise.
For a more recent interpretation, the Silent Hill f poster showcases the official key art for the 2025 release, with its distinctive Japanese setting and unsettling imagery. The Silent Hill 2 Remake key-art poster celebrates the 2024 reimagining of James Sunderland’s story, while the Silent Hill 2 Remake Observation Deck poster focuses on the opening scene overlooking Toluca Lake.
Together, these designs reflect the different visual identities of the franchise, from its PlayStation origins to its modern reinventions and new standalone stories.
