Released for PlayStation 3 on 14th June 2013, The Last of Us was a new kind of adventure from Naughty Dog, the studio behind the Uncharted series.
Set approximately twenty years after a devastating fungal pandemic has transformed civilisation, the game follows Joel, a hardened survivor who is tasked with escorting fourteen-year-old Ellie across the United States. What begins as a relatively simple job quickly becomes a much more personal journey as the pair travel through abandoned cities, forests, quarantine zones and settlements while facing infected creatures and other survivors.
This poster is based on the original PS3 box art, making it a particularly nostalgic choice for players who experienced Joel and Ellie’s story for the first time on Sony’s seventh-generation console.

At the heart of The Last of Us is the evolving relationship between Joel and Ellie. Joel has spent years surviving in a world where trust can be dangerous, while Ellie has grown up knowing little of the world that existed before the outbreak. A Landmark PlayStation 3 Adventure
The Last of Us combined third-person action, stealth, exploration and survival mechanics with a heavily character-driven narrative. Its post-pandemic setting provided a world filled with abandoned buildings, overgrown streets and remnants of the society that existed before the outbreak. Alongside the infected, Joel and Ellie also encounter other survivors, creating a constant sense of uncertainty throughout their journey.
The original PS3 release remains an important part of The Last of Us history, before the story was subsequently revisited through The Last of Us Remastered and the ground-up The Last of Us Part I remake.
