The Last of Us – From Joel and Ellie to Part II

Few modern video game series have built such a distinctive visual identity around their characters and world as The Last of Us.

The original game introduced Joel and Ellie as they travelled across a post-pandemic United States, with Joel tasked with escorting Ellie across the country. Originally released for PlayStation 3 on 14th June 2013, the game established the characters, world and story that would become the foundation for the series. The Last of Us Part II continues that story several years later, following Ellie and Abby through a much larger and more dangerous world. Originally released for PS4 in June 2020, the sequel was subsequently remastered for PS5 in January 2024.

This four-poster collection brings those two chapters together in a matching visual format.

The Part I poster specifically represents the 2022 PS5 remake, which rebuilt the original game from the ground up with updated visuals and gameplay improvements.

A Matching The Last of Us Collection

Each poster uses the same overall Gamers Gallery design language, allowing the four prints to sit naturally together on a gaming wall, above a desk or as part of a wider video game collection. The original The Last of Us poster uses the iconic PS3-era Joel and Ellie artwork, while the Part I design represents the dramatically updated PS5 presentation. The two Part II posters then complete the collection with both the original PS4 box artwork and the later PS5 Remastered artwork.

This gives the bundle a deliberate progression rather than simply grouping four versions of the same artwork together.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered

The fourth poster in the collection is based on the PS5 box art for The Last of Us Part II Remastered. The Remastered edition launched on PS5 on 19th January 2024, adding graphical enhancements, new gameplay modes including No Return, Lost Levels, Guitar Free Play and additional behind-the-scenes features.

For consistency with the individual Gamers Gallery design, the Part II Remastered poster displays the original game’s 19th June 2020 release date rather than the 2024 Remastered release date.

Four Distinct Designs

Every poster in the bundle has been designed as part of the same minimalist gaming art collection. The original The Last of Us design focuses on Joel and Ellie from the original PS3 box art. The Part I poster uses the modern PS5 key art from the 2022 remake. The original Part II poster centres on the close-up image of Ellie from the PS4 box art, while the Part II Remastered poster uses the later PS5 artwork.

Each design features the game title above the main artwork, six colour swatches sampled directly from the image, key game information and platform branding, with the relevant release date displayed beneath the artwork.
