Following the events of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Nathan Drake finds himself drawn back into the world of lost treasure, ancient mysteries and dangerous thieves. His search leads him to the lost fleet of Marco Polo and the legendary Cintamani Stone, sending Drake on a journey that stretches from the streets of Istanbul to the frozen mountains of the Himalayas. Along the way, he encounters old friends, new allies and enemies determined to claim the treasure for themselves.
Released for PlayStation 3 in 2009, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves expanded everything that made the original game distinctive, combining exploration, platforming, gunplay, puzzles and cinematic set pieces across a much broader adventure.
The Search for Shambhala
At the heart of Drake’s journey is the search for Shambhala and the legendary Cintamani Stone. The adventure takes Nathan across a huge variety of environments, including urban locations, jungles, rooftops, underground ruins and the snowy Himalayan mountains. The game’s varied locations became a major part of its identity, helping give Among Thieves a sense of scale that went far beyond the original adventure.
The result is an Uncharted adventure that feels constantly on the move, with Drake climbing, exploring and fighting his way through one spectacular location after another.
A Defining PlayStation 3 Adventure
Developed by Naughty Dog, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was designed specifically around the capabilities of the PlayStation 3 and pushed the series further in terms of scale, visual detail and cinematic presentation. The game also introduced competitive and cooperative multiplayer alongside its story-driven campaign.
