The local population has been infected by the mysterious Las Plagas parasite, transforming the people Leon encounters into aggressive and unpredictable enemies. Instead of the traditional shambling zombies associated with the earlier games, Leon must contend with enemies capable of using weapons, communicating with one another and working together.
