Resident Evil 4: A New Beginning
Resident Evil 4 marked a dramatic turning point for the franchise when it was released in 2005.
Leon S. Kennedy returned as the protagonist, now working as a government agent and sent to rural Spain to rescue Ashley Graham, the daughter of the President of the United States. Instead of the traditional zombies of earlier games, Leon faced villagers infected by the Las Plagas parasite.
The game’s over-the-shoulder camera, dynamic combat and larger environments transformed the way Resident Evil was played. The village, castle and surrounding countryside provided a much larger world to explore, while enemies became faster, more intelligent and considerably more aggressive.

Resident Evil 5: Taking the Action Global
Resident Evil 5 continued the direction established by its predecessor while dramatically increasing the scale of the action.
Released in 2009, the game follows Chris Redfield and BSAA agent Sheva Alomar as they investigate a bioterrorist threat in the African region of Kijuju. The game introduced a strong emphasis on cooperative gameplay, allowing two players to experience the campaign together.
Chris’s investigation also brought him back into conflict with Albert Wesker, while the story explored the continuing consequences of the biological experiments and conspiracies that had driven the Resident Evil series since its earliest games.
The Resident Evil 5 poster celebrates this distinctive chapter, with its African setting and Chris Redfield-led story giving it a visual identity very different from the games that came before it.
Resident Evil 6: A Global Crisis
Resident Evil 6 took the series’ action-oriented direction even further.
Released in 2012, the game brought together Leon Kennedy, Chris Redfield, Jake Muller and Ada Wong across four interconnected campaigns. The story moves between the United States, Eastern Europe and China as the C-Virus creates another worldwide bioterrorist crisis.
The multiple campaigns allow the game to explore very different styles of gameplay and storytelling. Leon’s campaign retains more of the series’ horror atmosphere, while Chris’s story places greater emphasis on military-style action. Jake and Ada add further connections to the wider Resident Evil mythology.
The Resident Evil 6 poster completes the collection, representing the point at which the series had become a much larger and more cinematic action experience.
