The Beginning of Nathan Drake’s Adventure
Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune is where Nathan Drake’s PlayStation adventure began. Following a 400-year-old clue connected to the explorer Sir Francis Drake, Nathan sets out in search of the legendary treasure of El Dorado. His expedition takes him to a mysterious island in the Pacific, where the search for treasure quickly becomes a fight for survival. Alongside journalist Elena Fisher and his mentor and friend Victor Sullivan, Drake must explore the island, overcome armed enemies and uncover the secrets surrounding the long-lost treasure.
Released for PlayStation 3 in 2007, the game established the characters, cinematic action and globe-trotting adventure that would define the Uncharted series.
Where the Uncharted Series Began
Before Nathan Drake travelled to the Himalayas, the Arabian Desert and beyond, Drake’s Fortune established the formula that would become synonymous with the series: ancient mysteries, lost treasure, spectacular locations and fast-paced action. The game’s combination of exploration, platforming, gunplay and cinematic set pieces helped establish Naughty Dog’s Uncharted series as a major PlayStation franchise.
If you’re continuing through Nathan Drake’s adventures, the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves poster follows this design with Drake’s next adventure, while the Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception poster continues the journey further.
The Search for El Dorado
The story begins with Nathan Drake discovering a clue in the coffin of Sir Francis Drake, setting him on the trail of the legendary El Dorado. The expedition takes Drake, Elena and Sully deep into an isolated island environment, where the search for treasure becomes increasingly dangerous. As the mystery surrounding the island unfolds, the group discovers that there is considerably more at stake than simply finding a lost fortune.
The game’s combination of tropical environments, ancient ruins and action-adventure storytelling gives the original Uncharted a distinctive visual identity that remains instantly recognisable.
A Classic PlayStation 3 Adventure
Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune was developed by Naughty Dog and published for PlayStation 3, introducing Nathan Drake as one of PlayStation’s enduring adventure characters. PlayStation’s own retrospective describes Drake, Victor Sullivan and Elena Fisher as PlayStation icons whose journey began with this game.
The original PS3 adventure was later remastered alongside Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3 in Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection for PS4, but this poster is specifically based on the original PS3-era key art.
The First Chapter of a Four-Game Collection
This poster can be displayed on its own as a celebration of the original Uncharted adventure, or as the first piece in a collection covering Nathan Drake’s main four adventures. The [Uncharted 1–4 poster bundle] brings together this Drake’s Fortune design with matching posters for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
Original PS3 Key Art Design
This poster is based specifically on the original PlayStation 3 key art for Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, giving it a distinctly early-Uncharted visual identity. The main artwork forms the centrepiece of the design, with Nathan Drake presented against the adventurous setting associated with his search for El Dorado. The Uncharted title sits above the main image, while six colour swatches sampled directly from the artwork create the colour palette at the top of the poster.
Developer, publisher, genre and launch platform information is positioned alongside the swatches, while the original 2007 release date appears beneath the artwork. PlayStation 3 branding and platform information complete the lower portion of the design.
The clean layout combines the detailed original key art with the structured gallery-style format used across the Gamers Gallery collection.
